KNightmare

17:28 12/12/2006

It all happened somewhere in the early mornings between 3 to 6, I would say. I was having a crazy nightmare about a haunted house - in no case, was there any monster that was roaming around in the house, rather the house keeps altering itself ala harry potter to strange dimensions; often leaving you in a sense of "whats next and whats where ?kinda feeling!".

-----------I give it to you as though I am a part of it--------

It was 3:30 in the evening. There I laid with my college and high school mixed crowd, in a medieval school like building. Kili bungalow, as they call it! has been handed over to the local Church of South India parish from the original Armenian brothers. The legal battle finally had its say and giving its due respect in its 200 years old ancestry they have handed it down to the Archbishop in a small community function yesterday. As a move to celebrate this, they have called in all the affiliates to hold an intra community festive. I somehow got myself into this celebration. The building has been decorated wonderfully but poorly maintained. One could see the shine of the red floor amidst the dirt sprayed all over it. The remains of the old antiques like photo frames, book shelves etc.were covered in a coat of spider web. The doom covering the hall had many intricate designs that set the light in a varying tone.

I was spending some time along with my friends in one of the least participated festive events preparation in one of the grand hall. The hall had a simple balcony made completely of timber with sodium vapor lights decorating it in a slight dim of ambience. Groups were mildly scattered all over the balcony. All of them were in semi-sleep mode positioning themselves at strange postures between themselves. It was a slow play that was rehearsed for the show to be set up tomorrow. A sense of drift made us to walk away from the area and explore more. Having walked out of the hall's balcony, I noticed that walls were not cemented but plastered rather. It was a indo-portuguese style of architecture. The material were local, but the elaborate designs were exotic. It suddenly grew spooky though, mainly because of the fading light and the echoing sounds of breeze inside the vacant area. I was lost in a moment of madness and absorption to the situation.

There was a chirp sound that was heard so ever as if it was the background of some stupid television serial. zzzzZZz. In a moment of hurry the sound grew heavy and in the process the wall gave way - leaving the way that leads to the balcony behind obstructed. In a sense of paranoic bursts inside the mind, Rakesh squeezed himself out through the diminishing stairs that leads to the floor above.Walking in the same stairs, we were struck inside to see that the stairs run directly to the ceiling floor bed.

We were so damn freaked out, the way back is completely out and the stairs now lead to the ceiling floor.
There was a huge ventilation fan that was hanging on one corner and quite frankly there was no way out. Chasing the fading light withstanding suffocation and drop in pressure we managed to rip open one of the fan's wings and reach ourselves out. Eventually we dropped on the terracotta slope over the ruined garden. We grappled ourselves to the nearest window and pushed ourselves in. Taking in heavy breaths we look up and wonder at a grand ball with people dancing slow music. Damn, we have traveled through time.

PAUSE

And there it ends for now.

Simplified version of the great Indian Marriage

Simplified version of the great Indian Marriage
[Who could have possibly believed when a close friend calls you up and tells you that it's her marriage tomorrow? I have to call her again to get it confirmed - but suddenly everything seems to fall in place - the health concerns that their families have been tracking etc. After all she has been enganged for a while and the marriage is just around the corner. ]

And suddenly it happened. Not knowing what was in store I was dialling the numbers in my missed call list. It was Vasudha and she said " Hey naalaikku en marriage,6-45... 7 to 9.. vanthidu.". After a few questions I got the situation and the reality, I was not able to spend the rest of my time sleeping neither did shaik. I woke up the next morning at around 3:30 got ready and rocking at around 6 and we fled to Ambattur. Everything was in place for the perfect mariage. Vasu's father greeted me, and I woke up to the reality. I wasn't able to spot the bride though.

After the generic structures, it was time for the Kasi Yaathirai, and bridegroom walked way out to the streets. Ah! there she was, in the first glimpse we hid our faces and in the second glance we were able to open up our pupil to the colors of the scene. She along with that famous gang walked out to the ceremony. Several Handicams, cameras opened up and thus began the mood of the hour. Bommi was taken of her feet to stand up to her 6 feet hubby and there were hurraahs and oo's from the veteran college porikkis.

That was the single scene that we were able to witness in full panaromic view, right in her very own street. In a few minutes the marriage happended as we all think it should happen- in three glorious knots of maangalyam. Thus started a new episode in the lives of the couple and the people surrounding them including me. But that is not all, there were so many more to follow, including the grahapravesam on the whole stretching out to about 4 hours.

Alls well ends well, I was discussing a few corporate issues with Akila and Bala inbetween. Bala was giving us great company all the way, and he finally decided it is too long a wait and decided to start.I was starting to lose my patience in the long wait and finally or rather suddenly came to a stop. So I had enought time to spare to offer hand shakes to the bride and the bride groom. I would be such a forgetful person to miss out the progithar character who was churning out some mokka jokes. He asked the couple to ride two laps around the homam. Similar thing goes for the Convent Aunt - who was talking about personal glories et al.

It had all the right ingredients in the perfect mix. With everything in its own right place, I wished her well and started. We were completely tired and had some rest on the way in the office of Karthik, after a few yawns we started to our rightful places. What an experience, What a ride !

Trip to Pondicherry

Trip to Pondicherry

It all happened in a chat session, the decision to goto pondicherry for the Pooja weekends. Rajaguru happens to be a native to the place and Manikandan was just a curio looking into the window glass. My granny was in Chennai just before the weekend and with a few last time decisions cum hestitations, I convinced my mom to come with us as well. Having studied the Chennai Traffic I thought of going to High Court and then goto CMBT, but carrying luggages we decided to take an auto all the way. We dropped at CMBT at around 9-25 in the morning. Having started 1/2 an hour before us - Mani was still on the way. Mani joined us in time for the 9-45 Bus, I had no clue that he missed out his morning breakfast. I was getting myself cozy for the travel, we were discussing about the revolutionary changes the metro was witnesing around its face which was very evident in the little journey from Koyambedu to Guindy. Even the six way roads were getting in shape for the alternative for the ECR. In no time we reached Toll Plaza and from then on it was a quite a scenic ride towards Pondicherry. We reached Pondy at around 1-30, had our quickly prepared lunch by around 2 PM.
We had a short sleep and soon we were disturbed by the phone call of Rajaguru and we had to start off to Krishna Guest house which is in RangaPillai street. It is a nice cozy hide out, we had to book a 2*2 bedroom - space for our setting. Soon the pondicherry pooja took off. There was this bar nearby in the Hotel Surya, it was a nice little den and I like that setting in a way, the chicken spring rolls were good and I soon felt the overwhelm of the scent and sprinkle so I decided to take a break and move on, we decided to meet for the movie- "House of the flying daggers" at Rathna kottaai.
I soon called up Ragu and he rushed immediately with his brother Mani jr. He was awed to see me initially and then he moved on gradually. We had a brief chat and I took him to the movies, though the effects were good It felt distraught for bringing in Ragu/Mani amidst a nonsense crowd. The movie had a bad ending as well. The guys were already drenched with whatever in the bar's menu but still wanted to have an overdose. They moved on during the intervals and I was watching the movie with zilu, mani, mani jr and Ragu. After the movie I headed towards Richie rich, we had a brief session there enjoying the icecreams and milkshakes. Then I headed off to the hotel asking ragu to handover some Ice creams to my home. Ragu duely did that along with dropping me in the Hotel.
I had so little a clue what I was about to witness, Rajaguru was in full form and playing full monty. The table was full of biriyani and parottas. I decided to stay with these guys, after a long non-sense sessions which included build, billions, insurance , design, stunts and so on. Then finally it was morning and I decided to head back home, people were watching me with a little bit of suspicion, but I felt O.K whatever were the twists in the dialogues.
I then joined them for a brief session before lunch and I headed back home for my lunch, the guys had some outing in the Auroville, after a calm sleep it was evening and Ragu called me up. We started a walk and I was stumbled to see Rajaguru along with the guys in the beach pani puri /chat pull-vehicle corner. Rajaguru and the other machos departed leaving me, ragu and mani sr. for the big walk. we moved in and out of the beach, had a little stint in the handicrafts center put up, we had a few tender coconuts and we walked back home. The roads have improve drastically and the silence was creeping ever so perenially. The buildings, decorated with ambient light stood at its own medieval best for the gazing souls like me. Soon everything were coming to an end by the stroke of the clock and the chillness of the air.
We three had a silent dinner without much fuss and talking, with a few discussion that started and ceased as it was hightime for Bed, by no time it was 4 30 in the morning, everybody overran the clock by waking up by 4-15 and in fifteen minutes we were off to madras. We were able to catch up a bus by 5 in the morning and rode back to tell this story.

What's in a name

What's in a name
There may be several phrases in the world and several names as well but a few find some special places in people's heart. People find very close associationships with these words and are very pleased when others call them or associate with this word. I'd like to term these as avatars as people find these as avatars of what these words stand for. This is very much evident and eazy to identify in the modern age as passwords and usernames. Now you get the juice analysing your password or username! One can say the ever so popular phrase of- "whats in a name". I believe its the name and then you build up everything upon the name. In simple terms, you choose a word on your hearing senses and then you make all the searches of what the word means really and build your inner character upon it. You never actually do it but subconsciously there is an effort to live up to that.
In my case - I choose the word Knight - cos I want to choose some adjective for Naveen, but even if it was an adjective it would not have stayed close to my heart. I choose a salutation as my adjective. Soon I was able to hear battlecries in my mind after that.

In office part 1 -3/4

In office part 1 -3/4
It was a sunny morning but I was hiding myself in my pillows and looking occassionally at my mobile. Uyirin...uyire.. cried my mobile and I picked up the phone. It was Bommi and we put up another nonsense conversation. I was gearing up to tease her and she was not up to it - just accepting whatever I say, poor girl what could she say if at all any.Vimal was there with me and therefore I walked off to the stairs. I was going full at her - asking all about her journey towards the -W- day. She was not blushing after all and she was upto it, I guess she has been plastered in and out in this context. I then had to go and we hung up our conversation, I was able to fix the nexusinfotech.net site in time to see some happy faces in Raja and Gowri. It was my sneaking habbits that allowed me the hack into gmail finally. All I had to do is add one more site link in NIS. Voila, disovery. Then I had some good breakfast and yelled -krisha pichukko-.
I rode my pulser and it gave me a hint how much fresh I am. I was almost in half sleep when I rode on the bike. The traffic was a bit normal except for that anna Flyover ant Farm. Soon I came to office expecting my system to behave well atleast from today - it wasn't the case to be. I soon learnt from the way the air was blowing that it is not build day today. After typing in some old lyrics in and out in my keyboard I finally decided to scrap for the day.
Around 11 - 12 I started to smell some work. ughh. Then we went on doing some regular stuff. I was in cloud nine when I heard that the UI is freezed. Yahoo!. Then it was all set to (DBScripts) some regular stuff. In the evening it was Pradeep's quit day at iSOFT and there was a group amassed around him. He didn't fudge after long calls from seniors. He seems to move off to VERIZON. Thereafter we moved to ISPAHANI wherein we moved to MarryBrown to steal a treat from Shagila in context with her birthday - I was feeling damn hungry even after eating a few Burgers. While Shagi made the long walk back to the bus stand, Shermi started on with Mani's bike.
I bought a few DVDs and spent the night in watching Shaolin Soccer and Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire. The author seems to have forgotten the art of story telling and she gave us a complete pack of -Theme park crap-. Shaolin Soccer was a full length comedy.

The Walk

The walk

Days in Rajapaalayam

Days in Rajapaalayam

It was an ordinary Saturday and I ventured out for my trip to Rajapalayam. It was nothing short of a boring day out and I had just 4 vadais for my lunch cos I was sick of Junk food. I met shaik and we started around 6 in the evening towards the KPN office in Koyambedu. There we met Anand, with help from kiruba we got ourselves equipped with a sleek 3230 mob.

We reached R’Palayam not to mention about the movie we saw (Aai) along the way. It took very late night and I suspect if I had any sleep at all, and soon it was arounf 7 in the morning. With little and timely help from the bridegroom we reached our room. We soon had our breakfast and we planned out for a trip to Courtaalam. Courtaalam – the word did not fantasize me but the spirit kept going. Shaik would have asked atleast 10 people along the way about the season in Courtaalam before we reached there. On the way to Courtaalam we met Balaji Prabu in Thenkasi – He met us in the Bus stand and left us there. I was pretty disappointed with him to say the least.

We went up there and found to our utter disbelief that we were supposed to go in a queue to the falls. Then we realized that this thing took us nowhere and later we took outselves around to the main falls and there it was heaven – along the way we bought ourselves some chips and singing the tribal song – you know what. Thereafter we had a heavy blast all over our body and had a gr8 bath. Then we had a lunch of barotta+Sambar (What a combination). Alls well ends well. We climbed down we found that there was a train destined to reach our destination. We chose the Bus ahead of the train though we had our options. It paid off and we reached ½ an hour earlier.

The evening went off uneventful as we had nothing to do than having a good sleep and yawn. I personally enjoyed the match that was going through. Indians were caught in a terrible phase of run against the windies. Late in the night we had a terrible feast –meaning a spicy / wholesome dinner. We had veechu barotta and some garlic Chicken along with some chicken lollypop. Yumm yumm. Soon we were witnessing the morning 6:00 in our mobs.

We rushed here and there, took a bath, got ready and by then it was 6:30 – The marriage is between 6-7. We witnessed that there was no crowd absolutely in the mandapam. Soon we saw our Good old Bala walking out in the Bride’s dress. It was a moment of bliss and soon things turned into laughter. The entire marriage episode was running in high peak and we had a call from Selva kumar. I rushed out to give him the key and direction to the room and rushed back to see the marriage running in full swing.

Soon things came to an end, and we had a brief chat with bala and their parents. We greeted everybody and left. Back in the room we had a couple of hours of sleep had very little lunch and soon took off for a walk in the pleasant sun towards Jai Anand Theatre to watch Pudupettai. The movie was OK but was still a bit of disappointment in the end.

Saturday knight freak

Saturday night FREAK
This thing talks about a boiled up saturday after three day marathon run on a project. So what does the knight do at the end of a streak, he goes into his groove. That is exactly what happened and I just burst into my room, dying to hear some music after hearing some foot tapping numbers - I decided to take it into dancing. The moment I increased the bass in my system I knew I was dying to dance. The song just consumed me( thats smooth criminal baby)-ha haan- not the MJ thing - It was the ALIENT ANT FORM bonanza casting a spell upon the night by freezing it outside and burning inside.

I just had it covered and maintained by creating a video of it and lived to tell the tale.

This is the path of the file in miniature 192 x114 format in SQF enabling extreme video compression with audio.

Done with Saturday - Sunday I woke upto to see the sun scorching me in its extreme 12 hours avatar. It was again a sleepy Sunday(you bet). This election I casted my vote to DMDK -Royapuram Babu was the candidate (Gosh! I dint even know the person -Yet I wanted to vote for him).

WORDS PIPED

WORDS vs WISDOM Is it the sense it holds, the words, or just a verse that sunk or stuck to our mind with ease? Why it appeases some, au contraire sounds dumb! To hear wise men and words of wisdom. Men are many, mind and thoughts are too Though described what slips is just one or two Mockeries many everyday in our play 'coz only one thats real but the game's role play So hey is that something you said or I hear voices from my inner head, you gonna like it and it says, it composes tunes from loops it holds The fusion's fantastic don't stop push the tempo. Expressions broken down are to get written into loops 'coz silence speaks some thousand words and do eyes; no lies However it is the music thats piped-thats why It changes so much and lies in its vibe amongst all life.

DESIRES

DESIRES
-------------------------------------------

Desires blown out are many
In minds as clouds they go
They walk with us , shape with us
Our earnest eyes make'em grow

As my roads move on and on
In altitude onto the clouds
One feel the touch of destiny
Caressing out , as a breeze.

Yet I Don't see the clouds
The beauty that started it all you know
From here I like the view below
& I promise to ride back downtown

Decieving are the foggy sights galore
The ride downtown and clouds above
Yet it stretches out-miles around
To reach the place both up or down

To call this just a dream of mine
Is what that makes the journey look fine
I know when I reach the destination
I am destined to the soul divine
Desires blown out are many
In minds as clouds they go
They walk with us , shape with us
Our earnest eyes make'em grow

As my roads move on and on
In altitude onto the clouds
One feel the touch of destiny
Caressing out , as a breeze.

Yet I Don't see the clouds

The Maze

The MAZE

It’s like this, think about using an XML oriented Flash application which reads from XML data and renders vector Images in all perspectives. Obviously we are not going to show the entire world so no issues regarding the curved nature of the earth. The thing is that, we start of with this generic Layout that critically starts of from a landmark in two modes, one is the Eagle-eye view and the other is the human eye level view.

The render engine takes whole lots of time in order to be developed; it can work by the following mode

It reads in the XML stream which has co-ordinate information regarding the entire setup i.e. it contains array of co-ordinates plus their height information, as one node – This node has to be sub-divided to add more readability to the application. But hey, the co-ordinates system differs from top view and eye-view, while the top view simplifies the rendering process/computation/math -The eye level view complicates the arguments of perspective vision etc.

The perspective vision makes the application a complete virtual reality application opening up the cyber world and RPG reality. The RPG mode on internet becomes much more fascinating than that in the play station or X-Box. All of this is because of the runtime management of the application.

Writing the engine on flash that reads the XML is the most complicated of the entire stuff. It should have capabilities of Rendering 3d like props in the canvas. Floating objects make the entire stuff still more interesting because of the fact that we are into 3D Realism (props like Signals, Banners and trees are terror).

The schema and the engine have to go hand in hand or else the application will fail, the bandwidth requirements fall of rapidly because of the Vector layouts. A proper Shading style has to be mastered and light setup has to be taken care of. Phew!

So loads of Classes are to be built and believe what we are entirely dependent on our own functionality. I guess for a starter one can use the internal functions of flash and then we can migrate to our own functions that can be used by the application and all of this is not a setup program rather it works completely online.

First one can create his own world with his schema and proper rendering with error management and out of world bounds. The reason why all this has to be done against the realms of reality is just for simulation purpose (The commercial value has lots more in store than that). Things like Yellow pages, Advertisement or Tourism. Now we are online we can have interactive content – involving tourism, context specific streaming video and so on.

The entire application makes it more open and has more reach than what not. One cannot play live ads in the application but he can always do it via a streaming media support. The above detail fails not because of inability not because of constraints. The application is completely done in flash action scripting which means that the application is platform independent and browser independent; we even develop good ties with adobe. If at all we need to have the application user oriented, we can do that as well. I believe the user login works gr8 to load up the initial screen – the state can be preserved. The requests in order to be made secure are wrapped in a SOAP protocol.

My first blog

I don’t know but it kind of feels odd as well, but I think I should start blogging it just opens up new dimensions. You know someday you feel someway and the next day -man, it’s just a dream! I am just running of some inspiration, life is treating me quite good- But nothing is happening. I for now have to run back to the creative self of mine, what’s better than start writing- The one thing which I always loved to do.

The reason I opt for blogs is that it always keeps my mind refreshed and involved. Writing keep me focused and reflects my very self to me. It has been a lazy morning today waking up late at 7 30, rushing up and starting office by 8-45. It’s Thursday today, so I get my sambaram today. What else, this phrase is haunting me- so is the phrase “What to say” – I am indeed out of sorts in controlling these words. I was so fresh and alive when I walked into the office, and soon all that freshness was wiped off thanks to a slow display at the office.

I got to say, a big thanks. Whenever it seems that I fall in deep pits – There is this breeze of assurance that makes me alive and gives me a wake up call on what exactly is happening. I always get lots of room to grow, to put it in another way- I never get my full share. I believe, I still got lots of urge and path ahead of me -the only thing that could possible could have caused all of this. Am I lacking the panic, I don’t know?

The entire concept of MAZE that we were talking about yesterday is no more a reality it has been super imposingly forethought off but it is arguably not up to the mark as well. It is always haunting to hear big words like politics et al, but the final say is that wherever you go –these small things follow you. A smile can indeed set a lot of things straight but stiff as well.

So think Naveen what in the world could you possibly do to make the entire merry go round more interesting. I believe you always love to design that’s something nobody could argue with you, so I bet you either go on to your game designing seriously or work out of this one by yourself. Let me tell you, people are going to laugh at you when you go on to any interview right now. You profoundly have to sharpen your physics and math and from then on will be at a real good age to move into Dhruva really. The platform is already there 2 yrs is the best possible time one can possibly ever imagine.

So what is the answer to the million dollar question- Why did you quit your previous question? A very apt answer is “I am very thankful to my previous company for recognizing me initially. I am always grateful to the entire team that built my base. When you don’t have your room to grow and it really means a lot to your inner self you have to take these decisions. The most probable question that follows up is that, why do you want to join us. My answer right now is “Just that- I believe I belong here”. If you demand respect there is not a single word they can speak back. Coming back to this company, what is alarmingly making you worried about this company.

One can start of writing about it saying that politics is a major part, but the thing is that work is not fun anymore (never been so except the training period). I enjoyed a heck a lot when I was there in that scheme of things in the training period. Now, everything sucks big time.
