Days in Rajapaalayam

Days in Rajapaalayam

It was an ordinary Saturday and I ventured out for my trip to Rajapalayam. It was nothing short of a boring day out and I had just 4 vadais for my lunch cos I was sick of Junk food. I met shaik and we started around 6 in the evening towards the KPN office in Koyambedu. There we met Anand, with help from kiruba we got ourselves equipped with a sleek 3230 mob.

We reached R’Palayam not to mention about the movie we saw (Aai) along the way. It took very late night and I suspect if I had any sleep at all, and soon it was arounf 7 in the morning. With little and timely help from the bridegroom we reached our room. We soon had our breakfast and we planned out for a trip to Courtaalam. Courtaalam – the word did not fantasize me but the spirit kept going. Shaik would have asked atleast 10 people along the way about the season in Courtaalam before we reached there. On the way to Courtaalam we met Balaji Prabu in Thenkasi – He met us in the Bus stand and left us there. I was pretty disappointed with him to say the least.

We went up there and found to our utter disbelief that we were supposed to go in a queue to the falls. Then we realized that this thing took us nowhere and later we took outselves around to the main falls and there it was heaven – along the way we bought ourselves some chips and singing the tribal song – you know what. Thereafter we had a heavy blast all over our body and had a gr8 bath. Then we had a lunch of barotta+Sambar (What a combination). Alls well ends well. We climbed down we found that there was a train destined to reach our destination. We chose the Bus ahead of the train though we had our options. It paid off and we reached ½ an hour earlier.

The evening went off uneventful as we had nothing to do than having a good sleep and yawn. I personally enjoyed the match that was going through. Indians were caught in a terrible phase of run against the windies. Late in the night we had a terrible feast –meaning a spicy / wholesome dinner. We had veechu barotta and some garlic Chicken along with some chicken lollypop. Yumm yumm. Soon we were witnessing the morning 6:00 in our mobs.

We rushed here and there, took a bath, got ready and by then it was 6:30 – The marriage is between 6-7. We witnessed that there was no crowd absolutely in the mandapam. Soon we saw our Good old Bala walking out in the Bride’s dress. It was a moment of bliss and soon things turned into laughter. The entire marriage episode was running in high peak and we had a call from Selva kumar. I rushed out to give him the key and direction to the room and rushed back to see the marriage running in full swing.

Soon things came to an end, and we had a brief chat with bala and their parents. We greeted everybody and left. Back in the room we had a couple of hours of sleep had very little lunch and soon took off for a walk in the pleasant sun towards Jai Anand Theatre to watch Pudupettai. The movie was OK but was still a bit of disappointment in the end.
